Sometime tonight/tomorrow morning the shop will be updated with 12 new yarns (11 Beat Socks, 1 Free Verse Sock)! It will be the last update for Perfect Day Yarns for a couple weeks as I am undergoing carpel tunnel surgery early tomorrow morning. While I will be unable to dye I will have no problem filling orders.

Oh, yarn testers! These are your mini skeins. I’m writing up the letter to go with them now and they should be in the mail to you today or Saturday, I’ll e-mail you and let you know.

I will be having carpel tunnel surgery on the 29th. I will not be able to dye (or knit *sniff*) for at least 2-3 weeks. Shipping I can do!

So our final restock will be before I go to the hospital, the morning of Tuesday the 29th! There will be new and familiar colorways in Beat Sock and at least one over-dyed skein of Free Verse Sock up.

I’ll keep up with the blog. I should soon be able to post colored pictures of the Robyn’s Nest colorway I did for the January sock kit.

I am also doing some stitchmarkers for another sock club, Ruth’s PennyRose Sock Club.

I want to apologize for my lack of photography skills. The colors really so look so much better in person.

For your knitting pleaser : Valentine’s Day Free Vere Sock in Chocoberry Tart & Bruised Valentine (because sometimes Valentine’s Day hurts) and Free Verse Self-Striping in Sweetheart.

I have 2 skeins of Free Verse Sock drying (along with the sample yarn for my test knitters) and one Skein of Free Verse Sock Self-Striping bathing. The first two should be dry and up in the shop on Monday or Tuesday. Not sure about the Self-Striping (which I’m loving, pinks and brown), I haven’t quit figured out how long it takes to dry yet as I haven’t had the chance to do a lot of striping. However, good news! I just figured out a much better set up for dyeing self striping, yay! So I see more in Perfect Day yarns future.

I’ll be dyeing up a batch of 10 or so Beat Sock skeins on Monday or Tuesday, so there is a bigger shop update on the horizon. I haven’t ordered more lace or worsted weight like I planned because of the impending surgery.

My appointment with the surgeon is on Wednesday so I will have a better idea then if this is my last batch of dyeing for a while or what.

Hi all! I’m strongly considering changing the base yarn for my Free Verse Sock. Problem is I can not decide which yarn I like better (the original or another one I like).

So here I am asking for your help. I’d like 5 people to test out both yarns and let me know what they think/which yarn they prefer. I would send you 40-50 yards of each yarn, enough to knit up a little swatch with. I do not have much to offer in ways of payment for your help, other than a 20% off your next purchase coupon. Is anyone interested? The yarns are being dyed tonight (because even test knitting a small swatch is no fun in white!) so they wont be dry and ready to ship till next week.

The yarn I dyed up for Robyn’s Nest January Sock Club Kit is in the mail and on it’s way to Robyn!

I can not share a colored photo yet, but by the end of the month I will, along with a photo of a pair of socks knit with the yarn using the pattern designed for it by Mona Schmidt! It’s beautiful! (if I do say so myself hehe)

Now, I’ve been having some carpel tunnel issues. I currently have 2 numb fingers. I will be undergoing surgery soon. I am not sure the exact date, however, and that is why there hasn’t been much restocking. I have a few skeins I plan to dye soon but after that I’m not sure when I will be able to restock the shop. I see my surgeon on the 23rd and I’m not sure how soon after that I will be having the surgery and of course I wont be able to dye for at least 2-3 weeks after surgery. I will update the blog as often as I can, even if I can’t update the shop. I am sorry. I hate that I have to have this done and go on hiatus only 2 months after opening up the shop.

Holidays being over I overdyed the Candy Cane skein with some purple to get a pinks, reds, purples, skein. So Purple over Cane in Free Verse Sock is now in the shop.

I got to see my first Finished Object with Perfect Day Yarns the other day. Tara made some lovely fingerless gloves using the colorway Night Tide. She says she loved the colors but sadly her husband wasn’t “committed to getting a good shot” lol so the colors don’t show well in the picture, but they still look great! Thanks, Tara! You can see her fingerless gloves in the Customer Gallery.

There is also a shop sample up in the color Woods and Frozen Lake, base yarn Free Verse Sock. I have a few other samples in the works.
