coming soon

Aiming for a update on Thursday or Friday, I’ll send out an e-mail when I do, of course. :D
Here’s a little peek, there are a couple more skeins that need re-skeining.

My creation
All are Beat Sock.
I Pinch is a new colorway inspired by the female blue crab.
Xanadu.
Seafoam – Dark.
Jitterbug is a new colorway inspired by my knitting group and the coffee shop we meet at.

My creation
Free Verse Sock in Jungle.
Beat Sock in Time of Fire.
Jazz June is a new Free Verse Sock Self-Striping colorways inspired by the Gwendolyn Brooks poem We Real Cool*.
Beat Sock Perfect Day, there is a reserved skein and an up for grabs skein.

Yarn News! I finally placed my order with the new mill for the new Free Verse Sock base yarn. My first big giant order and it is giant to me! lol Ben’s been teasing me all day about how we are now on our way to the poor house, har-har (we are a teasing couple so it’s not mean spirited). Our current base yarn is 75% superwash wool/ 25% nylon and approximately 440 yards for 20.00. Our new base yarn is 80% superwash merino/ 20% nylon and approximately 400 yards, I still have to go over the figures to see if the price will remain the same, if the price needs to go up I don’t anticipate more than a .50-1.00 raise. I’ll be updating the site info soon, the few skeins in the next update are the last of the Free Verse Sock/FVS Self-Striping in the current base yarn.

There will also be mini skeins, a yarn tasting if you will, for sale. The little skeins are somewhere between 5-10grams and around 20yards give or take. They are great for mini socks, or to use in sock yarn blankets, to test out our yarn bases or just to have cute little mini skeins hanging around. :) They will be a buy 3 get one free deal and if you order just mini skeins (up to 12) the shipping will be first class and reduced, the difference will be refunded to your paypal after checkout.

mailing list

Oh yeah! There’s a mailing list now! I plan to only use it to notify people of shop update/stockings. All other shop/dyer news and general discussion will be kept to the Blog and Ravelry… lol

For those who had asked me to add them to the list before or who have asked me to notify them of restocking of certain yarns, etc, I will manually add you to the mailing list, as that will be easiest on me. You can unsubscribe from the list at any time. :)

dyeing this weekend!

Last night I wound up most of the last cone of 100% merino (beat sock) that I have, I will wind the rest into skeins tonight. So there will be dyeing this weekend! In the next shop update there will be Beat Sock, some Free Verse Sock moved to the Sale section & 2 self-striping skeins.

I will hopefully have more yarn ordered soon and I will be doing some practice skeins for another sock club (not mine, a friends LYS sock club). I hope to soon talk specifics with the yarn store that will be carrying my yarns.

I will soon be testing out a few new yarns, including a sport weight.

As you can see I am focusing mainly on sock yarns right now, but I will also be trying out a couple worsted weight yarns. I know some people wanted worsted and lace like yesterday, but I am only one woman and right now I’d really like to focus on finding just the right sock yarns. I am happy with my current yarns, I love my 100% merino but have been dissatisfied with my wool/nylon blend (can you say KNOTS & I want to love the yarn I sell) lately so I’m looking to replace it. I am also, as I said, on the hunt for some sport weight and a friend has me interested in a seacell/merino blend. Please be patient with me.

A lot of things will be happening “soon”, sorry I can’t be more specific time-wise.

sutures out!

Yep, sutures are out, yay! The doctor told me I have no restrictions, but the incision site is still very tender and there is a small spot that hasn’t closed completely yet. I will be giving my hand one more week to heal before I start dyeing. But I shall keep myself very occupied with knitting during that week! (lets call it physical therapy) My lord I missed it.

I’ll be adding a a maiilng list to the site shortly as well as mini skeins for sale, they will be roughly 20 yards a piece, more info to come. The mailing list will only be used to let you know when the shop has been stocked. I hate the idea of being spammy and I do all my talking here on the shop blog. :D

wholesale news!

I received a very exciting PM on Ravelry the other day. Someone wants to carry my yarn! I will not lie, I loudly squeed with excitement. :) They ordered a skein of yarn from the shop the same day and today let me know they love it and are even more excited to talk wholesale when I get the ok to dye again (sutures come out next week). Happy dance! I’ll let you know more as the details are finalized and/or the dyeing has started.

I think to celebrate once I start dyeing the yarn I’ll have a contest, so keep an eye on the blog :D

road to recovery

Hi all! Surgery on Tuesday went well and fast! One moment they were scrubbing my hand, next moment I looked over and they were bandaging me up!

Thank you for the e-mails and comments and for making my last restock such a success! The yarn is flying off the site, wish I’d dyed more so the shops not so bare for an undetermined amount of time.

The surgeon said no submerging my hand (no dyeing) till the sutures come out, which is the 12th I think. I’ll see how I’m feeling then, hopefully not long after that I can do some dyeing.

I’m still looking forward to hearing reviews from all my yarn testers before I order more yarn for the free verse sock yarn so the next update will be more lovely 100% merino Beat Sock.

Time to rest the hand. I’ve done too much online today. Thank you again for your business and well wishes!!
