sick, kitchen, vacation

Dyeing has slowed down to a crawl for many reasons. I’m working on multiple custom orders (after which I will not be taking on anymore custom orders till June-July), The Loopy Ewe wholesale order, my husband has had my kitchen torn apart for a week trying to install a disposal and dishwasher, I’m sick as a dog and next week I will be gone for 4 days, attending the Loopy Ewes Spring Fling in St. Louis. The two big slowdowns are the cold from hell and the destruction of my kitchen (where I currently dye). Yesterday I couldn’t even put water in my sink. I apologize for all delays. I feel like the worst businesswoman right now on top of feeling like my lungs are trying to claw their way out of my chest.

Ode to the Plum Blossom
Lu Yu

Outside the post-house, beside the broken bridge, Alone, deserted, a flower blooms.
Saddened by her solitude in the falling dusk,
She is now assailed by wind and rain.
Let other flowers be envious!
She craves not Spring for herself alone.
Her petals may be ground in the mud,
But her fragrance will endure.

**Inspired by
April Rain Song
Langston Hughes

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.

Monday or Tuesday

There will be little update of Free Verse Sock on Mon or Tues, it’s not as much as I had planned but we’ve had a very busy week. For those that do not know my first and most important job is as stay-at-home mom, so all my dyeing is done after 10-11pm, when I have to be up early the next morning I do not dye. This week has been full of early mornings. Thank you for being patient.
