Third and final shipment of the first round of PDY’s Dead Poets Sock Club. The featured poet is Carl Sandburg, this months colorway, Sheep Hill, is inspired by his poem Sheep.

Thousands of sheep, soft-footed, black-nosed sheep–
one by one going up the hill and over the fence–one by
one four-footed pattering up and over–one by one wiggling
their stub tails as they take the short jump and go
over–one by one silently unless for the multitudinous
drumming of their hoofs as they move on and go over–
thousands and thousands of them in the grey haze of
evening just after sundown–one by one slanting in a
long line to pass over the hill–

I am the slow, long-legged Sleepyman and I love you
sheep in Persia, California, Argentine, Australia, or
Spain–you are the thoughts that help me when I, the
Sleepyman, lay my hands on the eyelids of the children
of the world at eight o’clock every night–you thousands
and thousands of sheep in a procession of dusk making
an endless multitudinous drumming on the hills with
your hoofs.

Also, I told you I would keep you informed about when next round of sock club sign-ups would go live, spots will open up sometime on the 20th. Spots are limited as this rounds current members have the option to renew & and I’m continuing to keep it on a small scale (though a few more spots have been added).

Next Month marks PDY’s One Year Anniversary!!

To celebrate we will be giving away prizes each week during the month of November! Three people will each win 2 skeins of yarn and one winner will win a spot in next rounds Sock Club!

The details are as follows- Every Monday in November (the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th) I will write a blog post here and all you have to do is leave a comment accordingly! At the end of the week (Fridays) I will use a random number generator to pick that weeks winner!
Our first prize will be a spot in the next round of the Dead Poets Sock Club! If the person who wins a spot into the sock club has already paid for a spot they will have their money refunded to them and that spot will go up for sale again.

The next round of Dead Poets Sock Club will run Dec-Jan-Feb. Prices have gone up (can not be helped, base yarn prices have gone up, prices in the shop will be raised sometime this fall to reflect that) and there are a few more spots this round. I’ll keep you posted when sign-ups are coming around!
